Great aromatics, dark fruit, candy notes, tannins fully integrated. Paired with beef ribeye and finished the bottle over 6+ hours. Excellent right up until the last sip. Can't see this getting much better than it already is, but I'll save my last bottle just for fun and see where this goes in another year or two.
With Beef Tenderloin, mashed potatoes and leeks, roast carrots, and cognac sauce. Very nice, clear ruby, no longer opaque. Good nose, fruity (dried cherry, almost a sweetness to the nose), with a touch of leather. Medium weight, dry, tannins resolved, very good length. My last bottle of the '03 - I think we say goodbye to this gentleman at his peak - an outstanding companion to the food and company.
This needs a good decant, even on day 3 had gripping tannins. Not quite integrated I should have waited a few more years. The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Toast, Coffee, Dust, and Black currant (cassis). It tastes like and Black currant (cassis). The body is Medium. The wine has Leathery texture. The wine finishes Medium.

(Ridge Vineyards Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon) Sweet, ripe, cassis nose, showing obviously deep and concentrated fruit. The palate is in a similar vein, with some very sweet and primary fruit draped over a tannic structure. A good style, sweetly composed, although rather low acidity. A deeply flavoured, meaty finish. Great length.
