  I hate talking badly about a wine from a winemaker that I generally love and respect but this one was just not that good. While it was cellared perfectly it was weak on the nose, blah on the nose and unappealing through the tasting and short on the finish. Not what I was expecting for a $45 bottle of wine. The cork seemed fine so I can't imagine the wine had turned bad since the color looked good. Did I let this age too long? That would be surprising for less than an 8 year old wine. I do confess that we popped this and started drinking. It didn't seem tight but perhaps it was an I just didn't recognize it. I'll entertain any and all comments.

  Popped and poured. Excellent Cab Franc. Big heavy red fruit. Very tasty

  Nice texture with moderate complexity and good nose. Drinking well. Had with grilled Filet Mignon & Blue Cheese mashed potatoes. It paired well with fruit showing through and had the backbone to stand up to steak and blue cheese.
