  Surprisingly ready to drink. Still some fresh oak but nicely intergrated with the dark fruits. Smooth tannish, nice acidity and a long lingering finish. Amazing wines. Need decanting for 2-3 hours

  Er ist schon wirklich schön aber hat noch ein langes Leben vor sich. Sehr konzentrierte Phenolik und Bittermandel sind eingebettet in dunkle Früchte, einer prägenden Mineralik und sehr, sehr feinem Tannin. Großartig und er wäre es wert ihn über den Verlauf der kommenden 10 Jahre zu verfolgen, wenn da nicht der Preis an sich und die Verfügbarkeit des Jahrgangs wären. 24 Stunden nach der eigentlichen Verkostung habe ich das letzte Glas aus der Flasche gepresst und diesen außergewöhnlich guten Wein genossen.

  Sehr gut, ein Wein der seinem guten Ruf gerecht wird und zum Glück mit etwas Reife, anstatt mit 3 oder 4 Jahren viel zu jung aufgerissen zu werden. Zuerst zeigt die Nase noch recht starke reduktive Noten aber schon der erste Schluck offenbart reife rote sowie schwarze Früchte, Kaffee, unglaublich feines Tannin und eine ausdrucksstarke, würzige Mineralität. Nach einiger Zeit im Glas wird er noch weicher und geschmeidiger, gibt auch in der Nase rote Früchte, Pfirsich und Zimt her. Sehr gut und ein wahrer Genuss. 93-94

  This is profound! A stunning Rioja by any standard, the 2009 La Nieta is just starting to reveal its full potential. Black as a moonless night this beauty is packed with explosive aromas of raspberries, licorice, damp forest floor and camphor. It is sumptuously lush, full bodied and muscular indulging the palate with deliciously interlaced layers of rich chocolate syrup, dark berries and Grand Marnier. The tannic and velvety finish is also an absolute delight as it lingers on for a solid 45 seconds. This is just starting to open up and should provide hedonistic drinking for at least another decade, and quite possibly longer.

  Dark, purple red. Massive nose at the outset that took a few hours to mellow. Bright, red fruit. Palate of vibrant, red fruits with chocolate and espresso. Silky tannins. Big wine. Reasonable QPR.
