  • Fully mature, maybe on the downslope. Nose is all brown apple, and apricot, really beautiful. Taste was similar to the nose, but still full of a mature fruits, butteriness, and some light bitter notes. Last bottle, but great as always and looking forward to the 2012s.

  • Still quite nice. Similar to last note, but slightly "less". Light oxidative notes, baked apple, a touch of cinnamon?, bitterness is gone, strong melon flavors, great salinity in the middle, medium-heavy bodied. Love this. Best after 2 hrs open at slightly warmer than cellar temp.

This wine goes amazingly with a huge range of strong foods.

  • Oh what a difference 2 years in the cellar has made. Superbly aged viognier. Light oxidative notes, baked apple, light bitterness, strong melon flavors, great salinity in the middle, medium-heavy bodied. Love this.

I know may people don't "get" white rhones with the low acidity, but if you like the style, this wine goes amazingly with a huge range of strong foods.

  • More bottle variation, but this bottle is much better than the last one; no oxidation. Lots of apricot, but the bottle is past prime. With roasted sausage, squach and onions over polenta.

  • This particular bottle is showing distinct age with both a bronzing in the color and the edge of oxidation on the palate. Yet, the wine remains rather drinkable. And since bottle variation has been a constant in this vintage of this product, it would not surprise me if the next bottle is better or worse than this current bottle. Yellow peach and apricot dominate the attack and finish of this wine. Honey, honeysuckle, tangerine and orange flesh out this juicy wine. The oxidation shows through the sherry-esque quality on the finish. 13.5% alc. With crab dip - this served more as a foil to the richness of the crab. Recommended with reservations due to oxidation.
