  • Lovely wine. No funk at all from my only bottle and no hint of being nearly 20 years. Laser sharp wine but also with a softness with some really fresh fruit flavours. Perhaps lacking a little complexity but for me a really enjoyable and interesting wine. A must for Piedmont fans.

  • Cantalupo Aged Nebbiolo Masters (NY Vintners): Has just a hint of funkiness (nothing like the corked 99). Also young and dark and brooding and higher tannin. It’s nowhere near where it’s heading to, but a wine that would be fun to follow the journey (maybe starting in at least 15 or so years).

  • So good.
    Decanted to little sediment.
Had an endearing nose of sharp cherries that slowly opened to a gorgeous funk, wet straw covered in raspberries and more funk, but sadly that blew off in 2 hours.
Had good energy, but slightly lacked in mid palate and finish was a touch lazy, but really good. There's subtle flavors of flowers, rhubarb, building tannins with more energy as the sips continued.

Paired well with Aussie rack of lamb with mushrooms, onions and asparagus.

There was energy on the finish, but felt like a tired energy, something that I really love. Excellent age of Nebbiolo from ancient terroir:

"Collis Breclemae" comes from the medieval village of Breclema, strategic stronghold of the Counts of Biandrate, at the gates of Ghemme, at the entrance to Valsesia. The vineyard lies on the hills overlooking the ancient destroyed village .

  • Pale garnet. Sharp sour cherry aromas, as well as some fresh herbs, paprika and roses. Lean, with some clean tannins and mouthwatering acids, and flavours of red cherry, roses, savoury Italian herbs, and twigs. Fair length, whilst fairly straightforward. Nice, but may need to age a few more years before it becomes more accessible
