Lamb off! (My place, Kent Street): Decanted for about 40 minutes after cork split (user error). Aromas of earth, leather, savoury dusty spcie, a little Asian five spice over blackcurrant, wet cedar, cigar box, roasted meat. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity, subdued flavours show black over red currant, tannins pretty much resolved which leaves this smoothly engaging, fresh with a little non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Almost Burgundian in it's restraint and elegance. Yum.
Shows its age - broad brick rim; fully mature nose. Iron-rich mineral nose. Leaf decay. Tobacco leaf, cedar; silky an elegant on the palate. Very fine tannins, still offers refreshment. Nice delicate flavour. Not drying. Still lots of pleasure here, just a little heat on the finish.
