2004 Montrachet (Chez Schmidt - Chicago IL): Flight of 2004 Montrachet. Lemon custard and zest aromas with plenty of flowers and sweet spice. Similar flavors accompanied by a cross-section of tart and sweet apples. This has a fascinating weightlessness that leads to ansuperb, incredibly balanced finish. Up there with a bottle from the 2000 vintage as the best Lafon Montrachet I can ever recall tasting.
Divine with a beautiful floral nose of white flowers with honey. Supple, with notes of hazelnut, pear and a subtle minerality, mid-palate. Incredible concentration and depth, with velvety, long finish. Luxurious, expansive mouth feel. Simply marvelous.
