  • This 2008 Cab has aged well. Still plenty of structure and could age longer. Lovely cab. Not overly oaky with good fruit The nose shows some age in a good way and the mouth still has lots of fruit but a little secondary flavours coming through. Really nice wine.

  • very intense sense of a specific terroir marks this wine as S. Africa, when tasted blind. Good balance. Lots of tamed spiced black cherries and plum, structured with firm sweet tannins and vanilla from new french oak.

  • Pungent, satisfying full bodied CS with complexity, dark brooding ripe fruit, and bright red cherry notes as well as brisk med+ acidity

  • Amazingly appealing. Not a subtle or elegant wine, but imposing yet smooth and balanced. The nose is a cocktail of dark cherries, blackcurrant, cedar, and cocoa. On the palate, the fruitiness is confirmed and enhanced with licorice, viscosity, smooth tannins. Despite its imposing prowess and - for my taste - too high alcohol content of 14.5%, the elegance and complete lack of aggressivemess are stunning. Not for every day but a very valuable character in the cellar for red meat, lamb, or strong cheeses.

  • Uncorked for four hours, served at room temperature. Color: Dark Red with Brown hue. Nose: Black Liquorice, Fig, Cinnamon, Clove, Soap. Palate: see nose. Finish: Medium. Tannins: Medium. Alcohol: 14.5 % showing a little. Medium to full bodied mouthfeel with initial black liquorice. Fruity mid-palate transitions into a finish with baking spices. A wine that feels "naked", has nothing to hide. Pure fruit and a bit towards old world style. 90-91 points.
