Very consistent in virtually every vintage, the 2009 Villa Antinori is no exception. Attractive aromas of crushed blackberries, leather and spice on the nose. Full-bodied, with a nice richness and a silky texture. Bursting with tangy cherry and plum fruit character, along with a moderate acidity. Shows excellent depth on the mid-palate and a long finish that features velvety tannins and notes of oak and spice. Not particularly complex, but very nicely balanced and absolutely delicious. 50+5+12+16+7=90
Noticed recent activity/reviews on this wine and decided to try one. Drank over 2 evenings. Decanted first few glasses on the 1st evening. Agree with recent reviewers - initial decanting needed but this wine is drinking well now, even better on the 2nd evening so additional cellar time is fine. Solid QPR here.
