  • This wine is past its prime. Was better when first opened than 2 hours later. However very deep almost opaque color and quite clear. It held up remarkably well.

  • Very good. Shoul breathe an hour. Nearly a St Julian

  • During the clean up and attempt to organize my cellar after joining this web site I uncovered two 6L bottles of this wine. I remember buying Ch. Reignac over 10 years ago and being excited by finding BIG bottles available. I can't explain why I would hide them behind a big unmovable rack. A decent year and a decent wine in a BIG bottle... Did this wine survive? In a word... Sorta.
A friends 60th birthday party was the occasion. The wax capsule and the cork were perfect. Casually dumped out into a couple of carafes and... My 6L of Ch. Reignac had not turned into vinegar or any foul varnish substitute... It was "sorta" good! The tannins were "sorta" gone. The fruit was "sorta" still there. The color was light red and still "sorta" pretty. The nose was "sorta" missing. But the bottle was real BIG and FUN! My newly discovered bottle of Ch. Reignac was slogged down in about a hour and a good time was had by all. If anyone finds a 6L bottle of Ch. Reignac laying about their cellar I'd suggest it be drank A.S.A.P... My remaining bottle is certainly looking for a appropriate occasion the sooner the better... A "Laverne and Shirley" rerun maybe!
