(CDV) Sans doute un peu agé, il s’est montré monolithique, et bien que frais, sans l’ exubérance aromatique typique des Reynaud … Sans doute son cap est-il passé depuis 4/5 ans?

Truly beautiful nose of iron, game, crushed violets, woodsmoke. Incredibly fine, impeccably balanced, lightly peppered, vibrant acidity and lovely (albeit brief) floral finish. Tannins have softened to pure silk. Very fine.

Took about a full hour to open up. In the very understated, refined mold, still with plenty of red fruit in lighter red tones and white pepper. Good freshness, some green notes, herbs, whole bunches I guess. Last vintage of Jacques Reynaud, great wine that will certainly live but at the same time I doubt it will get any better.

Impressive for the age, chalky, elegant, precise - but on it's way down IMHO
