Dark garnet with little sign of age. The last and perhaps the best bottle of a case I've had since release. Very earthy barnyard, with licorice and some dark chocolate. Rich round flavor so of dark fruit, barnyard and anise. Fairly long finish. Better than expected.

Deep dark opaque garnet. Rich deep complex nose of cloves, vanilla, black fruit and cracked black pepper. Rich yet still somewhat tannic mouthfeel. On the palate you get some bacon, black plum, cassis, pepper, spice and a short to moderately long finish. Surprisingly lively for a 13-14 year old Sangiovese/Merlot blend. Plenty of life left. Great with grilled lamb. Better after several hours breathing in the decanter.

Really hasn't improved as much as I had hoped it would. It remains a nice, simple wine. Not very complex. I believe I better go ahead and drink it. I believe it will start downhill before long.

Nice sangiovese with funky, earthy, black cherry character. Fairly simple but quite pleasant. Probably has a couple of years left but can't imagine it improving from here.
