  Still Drinking well! Coca, Black Cherry, Strawberry & Blueberry. Smooth finish. I scored it higher seems like it has developed since my last review. Fruit dessert would pair nicely or truffle cream sauce.

  Decanted for 2 hours still drinking well. Black cherry & blackberries comes forward, spicy, hints of vanilla & prune.

  Bottle variation. Despite my resolution to wait on the next bottles, I opened this to go with lamb. A layer of sediment had deposited on the bottom of the cork and more was suspended in the wine. It was burnt purple-looking. I poured through an aerator with a strainer, and tasted, expecting to be disappointed again. I was not. The nose had fruit, forest floor detritus and spice, and the wine was nicely balanced on the palate. The acidity noted in the previous bottle was integrated, the tannins were resolved and pleasant fruit came through in a manner that made me acknowledge the complexity of the wine as a positive. The finish was very nice. Maybe not worth $75, but certainly worth $42.

  Priced at retail at $75 a bottle. Bought four on sale at $42. Hoped for a bargain--got a mild disappointment. Made in the more astringent, less fruity style of some California Pinots. This note is written on the second night. Very closed and monolithic upon opening--poured a glass through an aerator and decided to save the remainder for later. On the second night there is a nose of dark fruit, neatsfoot oil treated baseball glove, and cedar. Some plum, but more acidity than anything on the palate, with a bit of residual heat notwithstanding that the alcohol is 14.4% and the wine is almost five years old. The finish is nondescript and not particularly long.Will wait a year for the next bottle and see if it developes.
