Tasting in South Africa; 9/14/2011-9/15/2011: A blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier, the wine smells super ripe (it’s right at the edge) and a bit alcoholic. Blackberry, plums, prunes, sirloin, and a delightful hint of black pepper. Not terribly complex, but quite drinkable for a borderline huge Shiraz.

What a difference 4 years makes. All of the heat and awkwardness is gone and now this is smooth and silky - lovely!

Not well balanced at all - quite hot - definitely not one I would really want to drink again
