A delicious, inviting wine, bursting with layers of flavor: deep, red fruit; pepper; forest floor; some floral notes; and lush tannins. That said, I cannot see scoring this in the mid-high 90's as some have done, not for my tastes, which makes this an interest wine with which to calibrate palates. Did seem to close down a bit after 90 minutes or so.
Opened the second bottle a year after my first and similar notes. Kirsch and garrigue to the nose, well integrated tannins and acid for balance--good finish. Drinking very well now. Has more body than the 2009, much better balance and integration than the 2012.
