  • This Hermitage blasts you right away on the nose with a peppery venison jerky that is hard to get away from, but I liked it. On the palate, more venison and some beef jerky as well.. meat juice, white pepper, making it a tad spicy in the finish....very very subtle fruit flavors coming.....it literally tastes like a pepper steak, but again I kind of like it. Not a wine for everyone and not your typical Syrah, but great value here (as you will see with a lot of Northern Rhone wines), an everyday wine that can compliment a lot of different dishes. Very interesting.
