Annual Friendsgiving Gathering (TLV's): Popped and poured. Light ruby red with some bricking. Black cherry, roasted game, mineral and floral qualities. Balanced. Much more fruit remains on this than the '98 opened earlier in the evening. Very nice. 91-92 pts.

Sunday Brown Bag Tasting: 2003 Bordeaux (Mike & Judi's): Rest in peace Francois. Aromas of cherry, forest floor and red fruit- lovely aromatics. Flavors of cherry, red berries, violets, lavender and spices with a long finish. Silky texture, balanced and fully-integrated. Mature and drinking very well, and while it should hold for a few years at this level, I will drink my last bottle sooner rather than later. Drink now-2017. 92-93 pts.

Echezeaux Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): Open, double decanted approximately 90 minutes before serving. started with plenty of red fruit and spice on nose. Big tannins from middle to finish. With more time in glass, this became more rustic and slightly more coarse, certainly less charming.

A bit light and thinner than I would have expected but still very elegant with nice balance and good texture to it.

Beautiful nose. Fruit has peaked. High acid. This bottle was not going to age more gracefully in my opinion.
