The wine was just delicious right out of the bottle. apples, pears, white tropical fruits and just great balance. Same yellowish/greenish color. Thought it got better with more time. wish I had more. Can drink now or hold for 5 yrs at a minimum.

A nice yellow hue to the wine... at first taste seemed flat but opened with hints of apple and pear. The minerality and acidity was still present and paired very nicely with some Indian food. Liked the wine but felt liked it lacked something.

Medium yellow. Intense essence of lime, heliotrope and petrol-dynamite aromatics. Medium weight, some peach on the palate, driving acidity and minerality. At once, both incredibly youthful and displaying secondary Riesling complexity. Fantastic wine.

Steinertals at Seasonal (Seasonal, NYC): Remarkably spicy in its flavour profile compared to the other Steinertals, this still has the same bright fruit and powerful stony minerality, but here it's framed by clove spice and a pungent pepperiness. There's a sense of overt power here and a real density to the fruit, although it comes across less precise and focused than some of the other wines. Still damn good.

Steinertal Vertical (Seasonal): I found this one the weak link in the trio of older vintages. There was something a little strange about it, as it had sort of a loose, fanned-out physical presence and a wheat-like tinge to the flavor that gave it a very different complexion from the rest.
