  • CdP blind tasting. Illuminating evening, while there were some nice and complex wines there were also quite a few misses. Issues revolved around either not aging well and becoming pruney, oxidative with cooked fruit aromas or just being too heavy/sweet/alcoholic. TN: This was the first red that convinced me front-to-back. Discrete nose of cool dark fruit, licorice, intermixed with subtle underbrush and earthy elements, everything is very precise. The palate is well judged, medium+ bodied and not over the top (despite 15% Alc), good finish. Good now and can age further. 94-95

  • Even more delicious with time
Paired with bbq steak. Raisins and anise. Great long finish - still has a sweetness and tannins. Has longer aging potential

  • I haven‘t had this in a few years. It has developped really nicely since my last bottle. Open and radiant, this is showing notes of blackberries, dark cherries and kirsch, some dark notes of soil, some notes of leather/roasted bone marrow. It's full bodied and dense, with excellent mid-palate persistence. As most 2010s, this also has nice medium-high acidity and still medium tannin that is very good quality, it has melted away a little since my last bottle. Long finish. A really excellent CdP from this excellent producer and great vintage. While my personal taste has moved away a little from these wines, this is really excellent.

  • Smooth tannins, but overpowering alcohol scent. Decanted 2 hours in advance, improved further in the glass, still lots of dark fruit, pleasant to drink.
