Interesting that others are describing this as light; I don't feel that way at all, at least not for a Barbera! I would describe it as modern in style: extracted, rich, prominent oak. Yet still light in its way, and still aromatic. Some acidity. Reminds me of a modern styled rioja in that way. Nice, and can hold on for another few years, but sooner is better.

Lighter, violet color. Initially, I couldn't get past the alwful, vile nose and almost poured down the drain. With time the stink blew off, leaving a decent wine. There are cherry and cola flavors and plenty of acidity.

Light ruby color. Nose of black cherries, earth and oak. Palate of tart choke cherries, soil, black pepper and oak. Mouth feel is awkward due to it's youth. Medium acidity. This should soften and come together with some time in the bottle. Probably better with food.

Day 2: even more like a Rioja! Fascinating. And a pretty good bottle.

Bright red fruit and floral notes. Light and not complex but enjoyable with dinner
