  What a wine! Not pitch black but a elegant a very dark ruby color. Straight from tge glass you can smell intense notes of graphite, very dark berry fruit, ink and cigar box. It's not overripe but everything here is ripe and you can smell and taste the concentration. It is ready to go but can last a minimum of another ten years. Fantastic fruit concentration is carried by the phenomenal equilibrium of the beautiful tannin structure holding everything in its place. Brilliant, intense perfect matured wine that is worth it's price or at least has been because the prices are running away.

  The color is medium ruby with some garnet notes towards the rim. Intense nose with dark cherries, berries, some cocoa and espresso. On the palate lots of ripe black cherries, sweet blackberries, soft vanilla and some black pepper. Some greenish notes in the background too. Medium (+) bodied with a medium and elegant acidity. Tannins are dry and firm. Great complexity and fruit depth. Very good overall balance. The finish is long and very savory.
  Around 8,350 bottles of this vintage were produced. Drink now until 2032. (IG)

  Rich and expansive but not overwhelming. Dark fruit and lots of chocolate. Some asphalt. Lots of grip on the finish. Only improved over 3 hours.

  Needs more time, modern style with a lot of potential but decant many hours or wait 5+ years. Currently Roda 1 2005 & 2006 are better in my opinion

  Tasting Notes from trip to Rioja; 7/5/2013-7/12/2013: 100% tempranillo.
  Intense red ruby red. Sweet fruit, Full mouthfull, tar and rubber. Is this "minerality" the "brand" of the house? Like the oaky woody notes that gIve it an extra dimension. Long finish. A lot going on but this a big robust baby.
