  • Thought it worth it to look at this again. Still very young, but certainly more mature; sweet Grenache. spicy Mourvèdre, good local feel. Pronounced tannin, ends dry, serve some lamb with this.

  • Dark garnet; nose is nice combination of blackberry, dark plum and mildly stewed cherries; medium body, tannin shows but is not overpowering, light crisp body with fairly long dry finish

  • Dark red with some browning. Initially muted, but air is this wine's friend, and as you go on the fruit really comes out. It is rich, lush, big and round. Dark plum, cassis, herbs including mint. It is quite balanced on the mid palate, soft and attractive, very moreish actually. It is however a little astringent on the finish, a product of the very high 15.5% ABV. This seems to dissipate with time, but I am not sure even a long decant would sort this out fully. Really wish that grenache didn't do this! At say 14% this would have been truly amazing, as it is it loses a few points I'm afraid.

  • Here goes - bottle no 2 from the case. Popped and poured, then tasted over two days. PB liked it, talked of the white pepper here, and I agree - it has real class, albeit at a very young stage. The fruit is dense and ripe, sweet Grenache speaks, but it retains freshness and som spicy elements, that really helps. A very good lift at the end. Can be enjoyed now after a decant - better to wait a bit.

  • I think we left this a little too long before opening. Good enough, but at 30 euros, could not be considered good value for money.
