I agree with Double D, this wine is drinking great right now with 30+ minutes of air and only got better from there.
I enjoyed half on night 1, pumped the air out and enjoyed the 2nd half on night 2. The second day was great, just released the air and it was rocking from the start. This is what I do with most wines and most do great with it.
Great notes of dark cherry, slate and cassis leading to a full round and juicy mouth. Nice minerality through and through, but it wasn't overpowering the round juicy fruit. A really nice wine. No reason to wait on these.
Liquid Farm, Janasse, Fontodi, Wind Gap, Thackrey ++; 12/5/2014-12/6/2014 (TNT): From Magnum. Most of the wines were on the more refined style and the group wanted something with a bit more there there. This was pop and poured. It is drinking very well if young today. Purple in color. The nose has kirsch, violets, black raspberries and smoke. Full bodied. This is a big wine. Tons of black raspberry fruit on the palate. Juicy acidity. After a lot of wine, this did provide some welcome pleasure without needing contemplation. While this has a long life ahead, this may be how it drinks best. At least worth checking if you have more than one.
