NobleRottersSydney - blind Shiraz (Verde, East Sydney): {screwcap, 14.7%} (Glenn) Youthful. Big, vanilla and fruit cake nose; blueberry, mulberry. Rich and sweet. The palate follows up with liquorice/chocolate flavours, soft powdery tannins, a velvety texture, low acidity; and yet somehow avoids too much heat on the finish. It’s full-bodied, unsurprisingly, has plenty of heft on the mid-palate, but isn’t a caricature wine. Highly enjoyable now, but it’s something I wouldn’t risk keeping for too long.
