Surprised by how good this is given by the pedigree. Nose has flowers, tangerine peel and red fruit. Palate is very expressive with red fruit and citrus. It silky and transperent. Not the most complex wine but showing very well. Drinking at peak, no need to wait. 91+

Opened at the newly remodeled Alma in Minneapolis among about 10 other wines. Opened about 90 minutes before being poured, but this was singing (based on a small taste) from the moment the cork was pulled. Soaring nose of red fruit and spice. Reminded me of a great Dujac. Equally great on the palate with expansive flavors, a silky texture, perfect balance, and a great finish. Likely drinking at peak, and thoroughly thrilling.

A Potpourri of Great Wines at Alma (Restaurant Alma, Mpls): Medium dark red color. Slow O for 90 minutes, drank 1 glass over an hour plus. This was in great shape, expressive nose with a dank (in a good way) earthiness, red cherry, and an exotic mix of spices that features a distinct cinnamon note. The palate is medium bodied with distinct Gevrey minerality, an exotic spice mix, dower cherry, dank earth, and a sleek texture. This was quite good and likely at peak.

Liked the Gevrey earthiness this showed and the spicy minerally red fruit. Drinking quite well right now. A very nice Gevrey example that would have stood out more had it not been overshadowed by the outstanding '01 Giacosa Asili and the '98 Clos Des Pape at the same table. It was a night with an "embarrassment of riches" as the cliché goes.
