Deep opaque purple color. Bouquet is not overly expressive, but is pleasurable with cassis, rose petals, flint and perhaps a hint of menthol. This wine takes some time to open up and requires at least a 30 minute decant. As noted by NOCORETIREE, it is Grenache dominated, but does have a solid Mouvedre finish bringing some restrained tannins. Palate is fruit forward and cassis dominated with some underlying mineral notes. Syrah brings some spiciness and pepper notes, but is mostly muted at opening and only begins to show itself with more time. Medium body. High acidity. Medium tannins. This is not particularly complicated, but is pleasant and easy drinking with a good QPR. Lirac has been pushed as a less expensive alternative to Chateauneuf Du Pape and though I think it is a good drink, I have yet to find one that would be a good substitute for CDP like some of the better Gigondas options. Regardless, if you like GSM blends, this is worth trying.

Delightful & typical Rhone GSM blend. Fruit forward, medium-bodied and just a tad on the acidic side, which made it food-friendly. Not a top shelf wine, but what do you expect for under $20? Good value for DRINK NOW GSM (Grenache - 75%-, Syrah, Mourvedre blend). Think we paid $16-ish for it, so good value. The Grenache certainly dominates, so if you don't appreciate Grenache, you may not appreciate this wine. Let breathe for 45 minutes, which worked out perfectly...not likely a pop and pour.

For a 2010 Rhone, this should have had more to it in flavor, body, aroma, etc. Certainly drinkable, nothing objectionable. There are better values in 2010 Rhones.
