Decanted for an hour. Deep dark ruby red color. Essence of blackberries, tar, pencil shavings, tobacco, loam, black peppercorns and toast. Well balanced tannins with layers of ripe figs, licorice, cocoa, fruit compote, blueberries, toast, mushroom and black currant. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture with a satisfyingly long finish.

Popped and poured the first glass. It was a little tight but expressively treated me to notes of fresh blueberries, ripe figs, black pepper and mint. Very well balanced mouthfeel with hints of coffee, cocoa, mint, bing cherries, cassis and licorice. Nice long finish that improved as the wine had time to breathe. Waiting almost 10 years to enjoy this wine was very rewarding. This wine is almost peaking now and should be terrific for another couple of years.

What a great wine! Are we ever glad we waited 8 years to open and drink. Dark red ruby color, with a nose of slight fruit and cassis flavor. Hints of tobacco and slight tannins. Very smooth. Interestingly complex and not as big of a taste as when it was younger. This was a terrific wine with NY strip and Filet.

Served at the Three Rivers Wine Society tasting (4 couples). Paired with grilled tenderloin, chicken wings and ribs. A delicious Cab. Big taste and nicely balanced.

- Brick color and aromas of raisin and prune. It's balanced with a medium/full body with a long finish - Tannins moderate, but smooth.
