Wow, this is so much more robust and backward than I remember from a few years back. Lots of black cherry, licorice, iron-like minerality with a bit of elderberry. There is an almost syrup quality to the darker fruit that with iodine/blood scents and meat juices with coaxing in the glass. Dusty tannins that seem to firm up and show a rather robust character today. Lots of good material but lacking the charm today.

Far and away the best ‘02 Jadot I’ve had yet. ( I haven’t tried any GCs yet, just 4 of the 11 different Jadot reds I have from ‘02 are GCs). While others reference “secondary character” in notes 2 or more years ago, I find loads of rich primary dark red fruit character with mere hints of sous bois and complexity mixing in with the rich fruit. Hugely long rich finish. 93+

Full of secondary aromas, including earth, mushrooms, and some herbs. Well-balanced on the palate. Medium bodied. Minerals and tea on the finish. Drinking beautifully now!

This showed nice density of red fruits, violets, and an herbal undertone. Good acidity and undetectable tannin, this seems to have calmed a bit with aging. While this could still use more time for things to gel (tasted alongside Jaot's '02 Clos Vougeot), this was clearly the "lightweight" of the two.

Another bottle, very consistent with one tried just days before. Shared with Xavier 94, see his detailed note.
