A good depth of colour, showing maturity; a complex mixture of red fruit flavours with more savoury notes, quite intense, elegant and long. This is probably at its peak, and is a very fine Burgundy.

This bottle has a deep cherry red colour of medium depth and a lovely soft nose of raspberry, strawberry and dark cherry with touches of game and forest floor. The palate has that lovely 2002 gentleness that caresses the palate with an overall impression of balance and colour. A delicious bottle in a great place.

Some secondary on the nose, along w some leather and spice. Sweet, and slight unresolved tannins when popped and poured. Strong wine, let's leave open a few hours and see what happens. This was very pleasant, strong genes here. Fours days later this was drinking very nicely having been vacuumed up at the end of the 1st night ( was open for 5 hours min).

(Rousseau Armand Mazy-Chambertin) Medium cherry-red. A quite forward nose of creme brulee tinged red fruit. The palate is just a little more panoramic than the Ruchottes, more explosive too. Actually this wine is heading in too many directions at one time, much less controlled and elegant that the Ruchottes - which I prefer. Again very fine tannins. A very different personality even though the vines are separated by only 50-60 metres. I wouldn't say no, but given the choice I would go for the Ruchottes.

Nice wine , fruit and small backbone. After about an hour the wine took on a strong sweet barnyard/secondary in the taste and nose.
