This was not what I was expecting. With gorgeous 60+ degree weather, I was eager to open up a light, fun, fruity white. At first, the nose was exactly what I was looking for--lemon, spring, and a touch of grass...but then I caught a strong scent of oak, which I wasn't expecting. The wine was more full-bodied than I expected with really nice apple notes to liven it up. While this wasn't what I was expecting, I did enjoy it. That being said, I'm not crazy about that oak finish, though this was not overwhelming, which I appreciated. Enjoyable for the price, but wouldn't be my go-to spring white.
This is the "go-to" white wine in our family. Just a very pleasant drink ore- during and after dinner. More enjoyable than the St. Jean Chard to us, a great Sam's wine for about $8-9- hardly more $ than a couple of quality beers.
