Very good bottle of what I would describe as a typical Napa merlot. My guess is that this wine will please most palates, but the QPR falls short of a bargain.

Give it a little time to open in your glass...it is worth the wait (but wouldn't aerate). Appeared a little thin when we first poured it but by the end of the bottle we were cherishing each sip of a beautifully balanced merlot.
Might try opening and pouring a half glass each next time and letting the mostly full bottle sit 40-60 minutes.

As soon as the scent hit my nose from the server's test pour, I had a big smile on my face. This was going to be good. Nice deep ruby red throughout; no purple to be found. Only what I can best describe as "heavenly" on the nose. Dark cherry, plum, and just a slight earthiness. The aroma alone was intoxicating. Intense fruit on the palate and soft tannins. I would say medium-body. Silky-smooth texture and a continuous delight to roll around. Big, long finish to round out my definition of perfection. I just couldn't stop smiling with this wine. Absolutely spectacular.

Just the right amount of age. Could have gone longer. Tannins melted into a silky texture. Not over powering with fruit.

Good taste, but lightweight. Comes off almost like a Pinot noir. This is a good merlot, but it has too high a price point for the value.
