This is a nice American sparkler that is a really good value for $20 per bottle. It is not nearly as good as the 2001 version, but from a QPR perspective, it can hold its own against reasonably good champagne in the $30 to $40 range from houses like Piper Heidsieck and Veuve Clicquot. I got flavors of apples, melon, yeast, toast, good minerality, honey, and medium acidity. The only major negative is that the dosage seems a little bit high as there is a bit of lingering sweetness, but I am also very sensitive to sugar. Overall this is a nice value that would be perfect as an aperitif with heavier appetizers like scallops wrapped in bacon and chicken skewers dipped in honey mustard.

Great richness and a nice nutty complexity. Delicious sparkler!
