Remarkable color, opaque purple with a dark ruby edge. Rather closed at the nose, some hay, cedar, charcoal and milk chocolate. Medium (-full) and creamy on the palate, round and silky but also still appearing very young with lots of cassis, bell pepper, black pepper and some firm tannins. These tannins disappeared on the second day and even more fruit appeared, so no hurry to open this.
Decanted this for 2 hours, some positive expectations for a good vintage, never mind the producers. Very tight, closed, notes of cherries, some grass, green vegetal aromas slowly rising. Light ruby-red, on the palate- pomegranate, gooseberries, acid in the foreground giving the impression of hidden fruits, floral layers, bits of oak, cocoa, medium to dry finish. Would it improve?
Austere, austere, austere. Very nice nose of cassis, with some ripe blueberry and a bit of leather. On the mouth, there isn't much fruit, but some dark plum and cherry wrapped in a puff of cigar smoke. Somewhat drying on the palate, but a pleasant medium finish. Very nice with some marinated skirt steak.
