Well...#iykyk. Wonderful silky wine here with black cherry and dark plum fruit. Notes of mocha, milk chocolate, licorice, and fresh herbs. Beautifully balanced, smooth tannins, and excellent long finish. Great now and over the next several years.

Always my favorite cab franc. Drank from magnum over 2 nights. Definitely evolved. Not better or worse, just different the second night, accentuating different flavors. Not sure which night I liked better. On first night, my wife said “yum” and knew right away what I had opened. Glad I have more magnums.

A few years ago for our wine group we held a Cab Franc tasting and we asked for some advice from friends on what we should bring. One of our friends (who had great taste in wine) suggested this one and went so far as to say he'd send us some from our collection if we struggled to find it. That friend passed away 3.5 years ago now, but he lives on in many ways for a lot of us and at least for me some of those ways are in the wines he loved and the wines he panned and the shows of generosity. We bought this ourselves, but the offer was kind. It is true this is a big bold wine with clear new world roots and a bit more intense than what I normally like, but it is a nice darker red fruit and there is a sense of balance to it even if a bit bolder. Not going anywhere soon and many years left. Prob for my tastes this should have been drunk more in like 10 years, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Sadly, a rare off bottle. Smelled like turpentine, with a bitter finish and no fruit to be found anywhere.

1/27/2019 - Cow Town Does not like this wine:
Very odd nose. Floral, but off. Consistent from several tasters. A good mouthfeel and finish, and consensus was not VA, but still something was off.
