  D30; G5; 4.5+8.5+4+8.5+8.5+4*+4*; This producer's Petite Sirah is very good. Normally I am not a fan of high alcohol wines, but this seems nimble and light because of its extraordinary balance. It is an inky pure maroon with a nice brightness that belies a good clean wine. Decanted and after an hour of leisurely tasting it rounded into a completely smooth wine with fully integrated tannin and great mouth feel, balance, extended finish. The aroma just drifts out of the glass and the flavors are full and plush. Great fruit without being a bomb. Spicy notes with dominant dark black cherry; juniper mid-notes keep the complexity and balance interesting and the glass returning to the lips for sip after sip. Should cellar well for another 3 to 4 years, maybe more because it seems so well made.
