  • A Gambaro Rosso tre bicchieri wine. I did not know at the time we drank this and, tasted blind, I would never have thought so. This was pleasant rather than inspiring. It had that very neutral nose that so many Italian whites seem to offer, with subtle citrus shades of limes and grapefruit, a touch of candle wax, and tiny scents of mineral and spice. It was quite light bodied on the palate, with a rather simple white fruited character spiked by striking acidity that gave it a nice, bright balance. At the finish, little notes of spice and almost salty mineral notes drifted out from under the fruit. A pleasant wine, better with food than without. Drinking pretty nicely now, although I do not have enough experience with these to know if they will age well.

  • Di un colore giallo dorato, l'acidità si sta fondendo bene con una polpa dolce che avanza.

  • Medium light straw yellow, clear.
    Nose: flint, mineral, pear.
Palate: great tension with flavor intensity. Mineral, savoury, saline finish, excellent length.
    Very good.

  • Minerale, sassoso, una punta di anice al naso, in bocca ancora contratto, ma la materia sotto si sente been, fine e agile.

  • Remarkably fresh and only 13% alcohol, this feels like it's been picked slightly early - there a lot of acid and rather lean fruit for this far south. Whilst that's mainly what defines the palate, the fragrance is subtle with faint notes of honey and pumice, and firm, bright, lemon zest. On the whole, good but austere, with no flattering oak to round off the edges. I'd say it needs food, but actually it had food and was still quite austere.
