(12%) This “Old Vine” (apparently 40 years old) offering is classified as a “QbA” (meaning semi-sweet) and hails from the Rheingau. Sweet, white floral nose. Full palate with ripe peaches and apricots. As a mineral acidity emerges lemon citrus notes appear on the edge with a touch of white pepper on the finish that lingers nicely. Fresh, clean and bright throughout. With the sweetness here I prefer to match this one with some spicy Asian fare.
Wine Geek Notes: ABV per spec sheet is 13.1%; 12.4 g/L residual sugar; glass topped vino-seal closure.
