Spectator Winemaker's Dinner with Véronique Drouhin-Boss at Home House, Portman Square. Limited note taking. Identical cuvée (1/3 Ch, 1/3 PN 1/3 PM) to standard NV with extra dosage. Aroma of ripe pear, gently frothing mousse, well judged medium sweetness that is beautifully balanced by an assertive acid spine. Touch of toast in background - ? mature stock. Accompanied the Almond Milk Panna Cotta dessert to perfection. Don't overchill. Excellent
Nose of fresh dough, apple, pear and citrus. Similar flavors on the palate with a big mouthfeel and an off-dry finish. Finishes short though. An enjoyable post dinner champagne but I prefer crisper, leaner sparklers and the QPR on this is questionable.
Pale lemon; aromas of ladyfingers, clean light toast. Seems very Chardonnay dominated. much more single-minded, lacking complexity; sweet entry. Golden and bruised apples. Still manages to be refreshing but sweetness masks the complexity.
