A real surprise, food during a remodeling of the basement. 1 of 6 bottles left. Despite the drinking dates still has pence lead, plum/cherry fruit after sitting open for 45 minutes. Lots of tannin, wonderful color. What bordeaux is about. very different from a big California Cabernet the night before (Cru vineyard 29) which is wonderful but no subtlety. This was marvelous with lentils, carrots, yogurt with preserved lemons on a cold evening. Life before climate change.....

Found hidden under Bordeaux meant to age. Served with butternut squash and white bean soup. POP. Plums and cherries but very dry. No tannins. Simple and straightforward. Right wine with the soup on a rainy evening. First of a case. No rush to finish the others.

Do not hold any longer, drink now, it is a week past its prime :). But extraordinarily fine after airing: classy, expensive-tasting, long legs; with xmas roast 2015. Glad I did not hold it another year. Served three bottles and a half-dozen savvy RW drinkers raved. Not the longest nose, but elegant bordeaux finish. Faint brick edge with swirling, like those Broadbent plates.
