Powerful Meursault with insistent quality. Everything is right and strongly expressed: the body is oily and golden, the perfume of toffee and a touch of hazelnut and honey, the lusty body - opulent with right measure of acidity. One may wish for a bit longer aftertaste in this - otherwise simply wonderful - bottle. This was my second bottle of this wine in a couple of weeks and I recommend it highly. The producer is making great wines for what now seems like bargain prices.

Bright clear yellow. Nice nose. Some sweetness and very solid acid, not really integrated. Good flavour but I didn't like the balance.

A little ox starting to show. Not as good as what it should be but not as bad as it could be.

Domaine de Montille Wine Dinner (The Village Pub, Woodside, CA): Richer and more minerally than the Vireuil. Equally crisp with green apple flavors.
