Wine Spectator praised this wine with a strong score as well as impressive notes noting that the wine's blackberry and black cherry aromas are accented by tobacco and spice. Obviously tasting is subjective but I can't help from stating that this wine has been over rated.
In my opinion, this is a well made wine that offers a simple fruit character. Its most endearing quality is that it lacks the obvious "hot" alcoholic characteristic of most wines under $10. A highly recommended cheap table wine that is well made.
NOTE: I've noticed that many members here tend to score their wines in a band between 88 (okay) to 98 (Great). The point of a 100 point rating scale seems to be over the heads of these menbers. LOL
Absolutely nothing wrong with it, especially for $9. But also nothing special either. Don't recall any notable details! Personally, I'd put in an extra dollar or two and get something much better for $10-11.
Is this a 90 point wine? No, but for $9 is enjoyable and provides a high QPR. More fruit forward than most Tuscan wines, however it shows a little bit of that chianti finish, making this a good wine for any tomato based food including pizza.
