Opened and decanted 1.5 hours before dinner of roasted halibut steaks with blackberry reduction and steamed broccoli. Violet, murky color. Floral nose of fresh cut violets, candied raspberries, subtle earth, and baking spices. The palate is round and medium-bodied, with bright cherries, ripe cranberries, hints of blackberries, green herbs, and more oak. The finish is not very interesting, from a complexity POV, but the tannins are fine and nicely resolved. Overall, this wine was a little thin and lacking vibrancy. It definitely gained weight and an edge with air and food, but this was not that all complex. Drink now-2015.
