Started out a bit fruit forward but settled into more cranberry/rhubarb with sage and solid minerality, almost chalky. strawberry compote with dried herbs on the finish. Never lost it's new world charm but the cooler vintage shines through. Wish I'd sat on this for 5 more years.
Medium ruby color. Explosive nose of cherry and raspberry with a touch of orange blossom. The palate has excellent fruit - cherry and raspberry as well as apricot and ample mineral notes. Initially, the acidity is prickly in this medium-bodied wine, but with air, it marries well with the fruit. The finish is long with ripe raspberry and mineral. Overall, this is an excellent, ripe pinot that reminds me of a Kosta Browne with a little less body and a little more acidity.
Pleasant aromas of cherry, cocoa, baking spice and earth. The flavors match - a nice balance of everything you'd typically associate with pinot. Light acidity/tannins; drinking well now and should last another 2-3 years.
This was a relief after my last bottle was pretty much undrinkable. Similar notes as the first bottle with dark red fruits, but this has added some clove or baking spice on the finish that was not there before. In a great spot right now.
