Nose of cherry, tobacco, earth, slight vanilla. Very rich mouth. Long finish with loads of sweet cherry fruit and mature oak tannins. Not my favorite style, but hits the spot and delivers well when looking for this type of wine. Exceeds my expectations and should go well with rich garlicy foods.

This wine was mind-blowing. I bought two cases 10 years ago for short money from a distributor looking to clear inventory … under $20/bottle. Most I drank quickly with Tuesday burgers or Thursday pizza, or brought as a host gift. I found a stray bottle in the cellar last night and gave it a shot with Provençal beef stew. This wine was at an absolute peak, with an explosive bouquet of Asian spices, lavender, and cedar; ripe plums and tarry on the palate, 75-second finish. Balanced, with silky tannins and a decent acidity.
After writing this, I looked at the Parker write up. Apparently I stumbled upon one of the greatest bargains of my life and largely squandered the wine before it was ready to drink.
Anyways, I am now on the search for Legon.

Dark fruit is complemented by Mediterranean spice, wild herbs and unsmoked tobacco. Good depth and texture. Nice nose as well. This wine is showing nicely with still some upside left. This wine exceeded my expectations. Good juice.

Very dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour plus. Not overly complex, but a pleasant nose of dark fruits, black cherry, plum and currants, with a healthy dose graphite infused tobacco. The palate is dark and medium plus bodied, tart black currants, plum and black cherry, coarse tobacco and somewhat grainy tannins. In a good place, still no rush. Solid.

It started off very port like, but with time in the glass, that dissipated. Dark red fruit was complimented by lovely spice notes and roasted prunes.
