I missed the 1989 vintage on release, as I came to German wines a few years later. Wines like this 2006 have given me a second chance, as now in the midlife they are expressing some of the same virtues. The combination of sustained primary fruit and the complexity of a dash of botrytis makes for something akin to a 1980s gold capsule Auslese, as the extra ripeness of climate change kicks in. I suspect that it will head further into a botrytis dominated phase soon, so drink up unless you like that dried orange/honey/spice.

Brought to drink at Oinoscet during service The wine shows a bright golden clear color In the nose, the wine shows high intensity, very concentrated, lime, lemon, very rich, tropical fruit, tin pineapple, a few petrol notes, rubber In the palate, the wine shows high intensity again, high acidity, lemon, lime, citrus peel concentrate, pear, grapefruit and quince, syrup and honey, medium body and long lime peel/minty infused fresh finish Brilliant with many years ahead

Cork soaked to 100%. This bottle was cellared at higher than textbook conditions. Deep golden with orange tint. Nose of medium intensity, but complex and elegant with notes of spices, apricots, peaches, hints of trpical fruits, chamomille as well and nutty elements. On the palate it shows excellent to outstanding intensity and balance between fruit, sweetness and acidity. 5/12/18/10. -2030+ if textbook cellared.

Had a taste at Oinoscent during service.
Very similiar to previous bottle drank a few days ago. This bottle shows more energy though
