Fresh nose of herbs, spices, cranberry and pomegranate. The palate is sweet with some brown sugar, toasty notes, lots of red fruit and florals. This didn't have the Mourvedre funkiness that I'm accustomed to. Not the end of the world, but this seemed more polished than the more rugged profile from the Southern Rhone. Drinking nicely.

Not as big a fan as I was 07 & 08, but that may be a factor of age, as this comes across a bit young. Likely popular with consumers, this mourvedre has potential to be subtle, elegant, and nuanced, but right now is masked by oak, that seems even more predominant after a few minutes aeration. Big fan of previous vintages, of which I bought a case each, and look forward to how this develops. Let sit in your cellar right now, and buy some of the remaining 2008, which they still have. cheers,

Bright fruit taste at first, mellowing out with a bit of time in the glass. Very nice wine.
