  • Picked this up at the winery a few years back. Had fun with the quirky owner/winemaker, who is enamored with right bank Bordeaux, trying to duplicate it in the Applegate Valley. We visited during a hot, 90-something degree day, and the barrel room was in the same small building, hot, above ground with no air conditioning, and cooking the wine! I hope he's found a way to control the temperature by now. The wine itself is soft, rich, a bit pruny, and heat-damaged.

  • This is a lovely clear garnet colored dark and rich red wine from the folks art Cricket Hill. The Nose is big black fruit, pencil shavings and big oak with floral lavender. A sweet jammy fruit wonderful buttery body with vanilla wafer and burnt oak finishes with a rich and smooth supple tannin that blends so well with the acid that they become one. When cricket hill says they make great right bank Bordeaux, they mean it.
