  • This wine has a bright medium-red corundum color. Its bouquet is very complex: ripe cherry, strawberry and damson plum compote laced with scents of game, smoke, sous bois, roasted herbs and blue flowers. The aromas are so rich and layered that it is tough pulling your nose from the glass. Medium-bodied and then some, there is considerable weight and dry extract in the mouth. This is followed by concentrated yet bright cherry, redcurrant, gravy, anise, soil and mineral flavors. These flavors are awash with a saline-infused, lip-smacking acidity which remains intact through the long ethereal finish. And the tannins are ripe and tamed. This superb wine is the perfect expression of ripeness, power and balance. And is the loveliest, most complete young red Burgundy I have tasted recently.

  • Drank at the Domaine. A bit more reserved than the 2009. Loads of dark fruit, spice and earth. Deep and concentrated. Not as pretty as the 2009 at this stage. More structured and slightly stern. I'm sure my score will improve as this evolves.

  • Visit to Domaine des Lambrays (Morey-St-Denis): (Yield 25 hl/ha). Again great depth of colour. Beautiful complex lifted fruit aromas with savoury notes. Blackberries, black currants, blueberries, cherries and hints of tropical fruit. Great intensity on entry and a gorgeous mouthfeel; big fruit in perfect balance with the fine-grained tannins and acids. Palate coating depth with real, profound structure and power. My favourite of the three vintages. More classical in style than the other two vintages.

  • This is another outstanding 2010, lots of pepper, cherry fruit, great acidity, smooth tannins. Even the wife commented how much she liked it. I do fear it may be shutting down though.

  • Similaire à mes notes précédentes. Quel délice. Un toucher de bouche et un parfum qui ma rappelait les vins de Roumier. Une vraie réussite. 94
