Surprising longevity !! Still tasting great !! Near perfect cork easily removed after almost 15 years in the bottle. Consumed over two days. Dark purple color with modest oxidation and medium clarity. Amazingly balanced for a wine boasting almost 16% alcohol. Aromas of blackberry and strawberry with jammy flavors of red licorice and red raspberry typical of Dry Creek zinfandel. Barry and Susan Collier purchased their vineyard from Ferrari-Carano Winery in 1997, five years after Susan had moved to Santa Rosa to study viticulture. Barry, a retired film producer, still farms the vineyard, although Susan suffered from ALS and passed away in 2007. Grown on a southeast-facing hillside above the morning fog and shaded from the afternoon sun, this wine sustains a refreshing herbal character in its fruit. This unrestrained wine is still tasting great !!

Interesting in that it was lighter in taste than many zinfandels, some hint of leather, fruit was mellow and possibly past its prime, medium body and dry

Very nice Zin that had some red fruit with a little spice on the nose. Opened bottle to pair 2 different Zins to drink with Chicken Fajitas and went wonderfully well as the fruit and spice paired nicely with the citrus and spice of the Chicken, peppers and onions. Nice long finish and not to much tannin. Very well balanced with good acidity.

(Collier Falls Zinfandel Private Reserve) Dark red violet color; intense, dried berry, berry, black fruit nose; tasty, complex, black fruit, dried berry, fig, lilac palate; medium-plus finish (very good for a ripe style)
