Strong coppery yellow, shiny. Big nose with some caramel and a hint of butter, lemon, melon, a touch of mango and baked apple. Full body, round, low+ to med acidity but not flabby. Still a big but balanced chardonnay (think an exotic Meursault here). Palate matches the nose with an additional touch of apricot. Short finish. Good but needs the proper food. Will not improve.

Out of a magnum. Last one and it was actually signed. Clear with a green hue of color. Crisp on the palate with a nice lasting flavor on the palate. Held up during the eveining and was a delight!

Purchased from the mailing list upon release. Brought as an aperitif to the Shafer Hillside offline at the Post House on 3/14/05. A little on the warm side and a request for an ice bucket was ignored. A ten year old chardonnay that is drinking at peak. Rich and round but not over the top. Only slightly buttery and the oak has integrated nicely. Smooth ripe with just a hint of heat on the finish. Excellent for a Cali chard.

Lovely wine which opened up nicely. Although color is lighter than I expected I don't think it has too many more years ahead. I would drink now.
